Hindwell Farm – Fishing on the Lake & Local Wildlife
Hindwell Lake is situated a stones throw away from the house and is surrounded by beautiful Radnorshire countryside. A natural underground spring feeds the 4 acre lake and it is home to an abundance of wildlife. A Cob and a Pen Swan co-habit the lake and have done for many years, producing on average 9-11 Cygnets every year.
We re-stock the Lake during mid February with around 400 young Rainbow Trout. The fly-fishing season commences in late March and continues through until Late September. Fishing on the lake is best during the early season as the build up of weed throughout the summer can sometimes make the lake difficult to navigate by boat. The condition of the lake varies from year to year and depends greatly upon the type of summer.
